Wii Sports : The Review
Hi guys,
sitting here on christmas day after recieveing my Wii, and so far I am needless to say, very impressed. Aside from watching grandma playing boxing with me (and failing miserably) ive been amazed by a few things and dissapointed by others. In the Wii Sports game, the object is to increase the players fitness and skill, through different games; Boxing, Tennis, Baseball, Golf and Bowling.
First of all, boxing, I was highly drowned in my thoughts of finding that it would not work as I had hoped, reacting to my every move, but it did! The game is great, practically the same as normal boxing rules, but for the Wii. The controller and nun-chuck work perfectly together as I pounded the torso of the opposition, one after one I defeat my oponents, maybe this game was too easy, but playing against a sibling really changes things.
Secondly Tennis, although I feel it is slightly 'cartoony' and maybe too much so, the sensitivity and control of the controller were outstanding, making it pleasurable to play. Theres three types of games, one game, best of three and best of five. ot too keen on this one myself but it is certainly enjoyable.
Ahh, my favourite, baseball. I dont really know why it makes me think its great as I seem to have lost to everyone so far but theres a little challenge in there for me to grasp onto. The graphics in this game are wonderful and gameplay is as realistic as possible on a Wii. There is an option, as on all of them to play 2 player which makes the 'pitching' more fun as you can add swerve and other effects to the moving ball.
Golf, my dads favourite, after our recent game with a friend and my brother my dad had alot to make up for when playing this, and he still left alot to be desired hittting about 90 percent into the water. But anyway, the game is great, again there are game options, allowing play for a quick 3 holes at different levels; Beginner, Intermediate and Expert and then a 9 hole round of standard golf. There are different clubs as you would expect, and gameplay is generally interesting, but after you have played on the holes a few times, it becomes slightly boring doing the same thing over and over again, but still a decent game.
Finally, but definately not least bowling. Bowling is a skill to be aquired for me, unfortunately I cant really work out to get it going, my brother (annoyingly) seems to be able to shoot it off straight away and get lots of strikes
but ill master it. Personally it spins off to the left i think I must be pressing something to make it do that but I cant work out what yet though.
This review will be posted on the main site as soon as I have it up
So, to sum up I believe that this sports pack is brilliant, although an included item it certainly earnt its place next to the Wii in my christmas stockings. Hope you all have a nice christmas, and see you soon.

RE: Wii Sports : The Review
Nice review, have you heard the rumors about Wii comming out with a second Sports game? With more sports and what not? I'm not sure if they are going to do it, I think if they do, it would be far to soon, as the Wii is still very new, but It would be a nice installment.

My friend does the same thing. For rightys, you pin left. For leftys, you spin right. I do it good now though. You just gotta practice and watch how you hold it. Im good at the boxing one, im almost PRO in it (only 2 more people to go probably). Its really hard once you get high lvl XD. I just dodge and punch.
