Wii Review Madden NFL 07

Calling all american football players or keen Wii gamers, this game willg et your juices flowing and oozing from every available source. Although an american game, its seriously easy to get the hang of and is great fun for everyone. The controllers are used to great effect in NFL Madden 07 for the Wii, the remote acts practically as the ball, with basic controls including a flick will make a forward pass to the next available player. The nun-chuck is also used in the game, to position the player and control the way he moves around. With a combination of using both of these, for a simple kind of guy like me, these can get confusing doing two things at once. But really its great, controllers are perfect and contain just the right amount of sensitivity. This is one of the games where the realism of the gameplay is greatly added into by the fact the controllers are movement sensitive, something I think Need For Speed : Carbon unfortunately fails to do.

OK, being a somewhat avid football fan, and hating the US for trying to make a new game out of our English word, I am personally not too keen on american football style games, I just dont see the point in the game. If you like rugby I suppose you may see some sort of haven among the tragic chaos contained in here. Although gameplay is interesting, with a few different modes; 'Season Mode' , 'Superstar Mode'. The latter (superstar mode) allows you to take a fairly new player low in the league and 'train' him up to try and be a professional in his sport. I like the idea of this, something I think that football (UK style) games could take a lead on. Thats enough with my contant football talk now. If you have experienced this game on different consoles/platforms such as Xbox, Gamecube and PS2 the game is practically the same, there are no new features apart from the great added bonus of the Wii, and its features.
The game integrated nicely the multiplayer features and allows thrilling contests between users, but again, like alot of games the WiFi setting is not available, something I am really hoping will soon be switched 'on' in some of these top games.

I would love to hear an american point of view on this game, so if your out there and have Madden 07 for Wii, or know someone who does, please tell us here in the UK whats its like for people who understand the game Smile

Overall ratings:
76 %
> Controller and Nun-Chuck used to great effect
> Great gameplay for americans esp.
> medium ease to use for a non-american user
- no wifi mode to accompany wireless gaming.

RE: Wii Review Madden NFL 07

In my opinion, this game deserves a better review. I own it, and the franchise mode is great. The teams actually pick the best players possible this year, and it's a challenge to win a game, not just destroy them 70-30. Tongue
